Posted on December 1, 2021 at 10:13 AM by Mary Jane King

On November 27, 2021, at approximately 1:00 am, a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper attempted to stop a speeding motorist on the Kansas Turnpike, near Exit 202, in Douglas County. The driver failed to yield and proceeded to exit the KTA at Exit 202 before pulling into a parking lot located near Plaza 202. During the traffic stop, the Trooper observed signs of possible impairment.

The driver was identified as Mr. Aaron Coleman of Kansas City, Kansas. A DUI investigation led to Coleman being taken into custody for driving under the influence (DUI). Coleman was released to the Douglas County Jail for DUI, speed, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

This investigation is ongoing and will be given to the Douglas County Attorney’s Office upon completion.
