2022-08: KHP Participates in annual Memorial Day STEP campaign

The Kansas Highway Patrol will be working additional hours from May 22nd through June 2nd. This additional coverage comes thanks to funding from the Kansas Department of Transportation through the STEP (Special Traffic Enforcement Program) campaign, to help motorists reach their destinations safely.

2022-07: “Move Over” to Protect Law Enforcement

Every day, thousands of law enforcement officers and other first responders take to the streets to help keep Americans safe. And every day, they put their lives at risk to do so. One of the most dangerous parts of a first responder’s job is stepping out on the side of the road, whether it is for a traffic stop, to assist a motorist, or to investigate a crash. Since 2017, there have been 149 law enforcement officers alone killed in traffic-related incidents.

2022-05: KANSAS LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL SERVICES TO BE HELD MAY 5 AND 6

A grant opportunity for Nonprofits for physical security enhancements and other security-related activities for nonprofit organizations at high risk of a terrorist attack is available. This grant also seeks to integrate the preparedness activities of nonprofit organizations with broader state and local preparedness efforts, such as enhancing the protection of crowded areas. Thanks to a recent increase in National funding, more nonprofits will have an opportunity to access this program by submitting a well-justified application.
