Application window closed December 1.

This is a Lateral Transfer class for Current Kansas Certified Law Enforcement Officers who want to become a Kansas Highway Patrol State Trooper.

Compensation:

Annual Salary Range: $43,950.40
Hourly Pay Range: $21.13

Eligibility:

  • A current Kansas Certified Law Enforcement Officer
  • In Good Standing with KSCPOST
  • Minimum three (3) years experience at the time of application

Polygraph Examination and Written Psych Testing on a biweekly schedule starting September 2021 through December 8, 2021. Completed in Topeka and Salina. Polygraph Reviews by Command Staff will be completed bi-weekly.

Personal History Statement will be completed by all passing the online test. Those that pass the Polygraph phase will move forward to the Background phase. Deadline of December 27, 2021 for completion of the Personal History Statement.

Background Reviews completed February 2, 2022
Command staff review backgrounds February 7, 2022
Interviews with Command Staff take place in Topeka
Applicant residency preferences will be strongly considered.
 February 21-22, 2022
Conditional offers of employment containing county duty duty assignment e-mailed and Background Investigation Part II (medical) begins February 24, 2022
Physical Exams/agility, hearing/vision, fingerprints and uniforms take place in Salina March 9, 2022
Psychological Interviews (Topeka or Skype) March 14-16, 2022
Command Staff Review April 4, 2022
Final Offer Letters e-mailed.  Deadline to accept April 8, 2022. April 6, 2022
Recruit Troopers report to Academy for 10 weeks of training April 24, 2022
Class #63 graduates June 29, 2022
