The last day to submit a Virtual VIN Inspection request is May 27, 2020.
The Kansas Highway Patrol will resume in-person VIN Inspections beginning June 1, 2020. Please remain in your vehicle upon arrival. You will be approached by the first-available VIN Inspector.
Your local VIN Inspection Station may still be closed. We recommend that you call in advance to determine if VIN inspections are being conducted. It is best to plan for your local station to be closed.
Preventive measures per Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE)
There is currently no vaccine to prevent COVID-19. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid spreading the virus and to avoid being exposed to the virus. The virus is thought to spread between people who are within about 6 feet of each other for at least 10 minutes through droplets from coughing and sneezing. To reduce risk, everyone should:
Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
