Minimum Qualifications
Hiring Process for Law Enforcement Officer
Applicants must pass a written exam, physical agility test, polygraph, background investigation, and psychological test before any final offer of employment; and be
- Free of conviction of any crime punishable by imprisonment in a federal or state penitentiary
- Must be a U.S. citizen of at least 21 years of age
- Must be in good physical condition
- Must pass hearing and vision standards
- Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must possess a valid Kansas driver's license

- 500 Hz at 20 dB
- 1000 Hz at 20 dB
- 2000 Hz at 20 dB
- 3000 Hz at 30 dB
Hiring Process for Capitol Area Guards & Communications Specialists
Applicants will be screened initially through the applicant process. Successful candidates will be interviewed by a panel board. A thorough background investigation, polygraph examination and medical evaluation may be required preceding any offer of employment.
